Our Story
A 'brushpopper’ is a cowboy specializing in herding cattle from dense brush and thickets, often in challenging terrains. They rescue stray cattle by navigating thick vegetation to locate and drive them back to the herd, requiring exceptional horsemanship and resilience. The term has also influenced fashion, notably in the 1980s and 1990s, with brands like Wrangler producing 'brushpopper' shirts characterized by bold patterns and durable materials.
In "brushpopper cowboy" style, Christian men don't just fence sins off- they ride right into the mess. They drop the eloquence, ride into the trenches, build trust, and use scripture as their lasso-rounding up men and guiding them home, often one hard story at a time. Christian men take the "cowboy" approach-rugged, no-nonsense, and hands-on—use bold, practical, and deeply relational strategies to help men who've fallen into pornography or sexual addiction.
Our Mission
Brushpopper exists to help men confront sin & sexual sin honestly, walk out of secrecy and shame, and rebuild a life marked by integrity, brotherhood, and freedom in Christ.

Trained men begin by speaking privately with the man, using Scripture to lovingly reprove and challenge him.

The man is paired with accountability partners-trusted, discreet brothers he meets with regularly. They often use software (like Covenant Eyes) that logs internet activity for transparency.
Group ministries (like Finding Traction groups or Alumni groups) provide structure, shared stories, and mutual encouragement.

Groups intentionally foster environments ("Hospital Churches') where men feel safe confessing without fear of condemnation.
They speak from there brokenness and testify personally, normalizing struggle and saying, "We've been there too".

Mature men walk alongside the struggler by connecting men to resources like weekly programs, groups, and counseling. Then exploring underlying emotions and needs.
They help him grasp God’s grace, rebuild his identity in Christ, memorize Scripture to combat temptation, and form healthier habits. -
Once they begin to heal the teach others to set a stronger foundation; then employ gentle reproof, correction, and ongoing discipleship to reinforce growth.
It’s a consistent cycle of teaching paired with private intervention. -
Implementation of digital barriers (filters, accountability apps). Structured programs like 52 week Finding Traction classes. Connection with external, specialized ministries or counselors when deeper issues are at play.
RESULTS
